The most famous 4×4 system in the world must be named appropriately and each Jeep model has a slightly different system. The Quadra systems are found on the Jeep Grand Cherokee. There are four different Quadra systems: Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, Quadra-Drive II, and Quadra-Trac SRT.

The Quadra-Trac I 4×4 system is always engaged for all-weather capability and peace of mind. There are no levers to pull or complicated buttons to push. Combined with a brake lock differential, the Quadra-Trac I 4×4 system provides commanding road confidence that only comes with a Jeep.

The Quadra-Trac II 4×4 system features a two-speed low transfer case that uses input from a variety of sensors in order to determine tire slip at the earliest possible moment and take corrective action. When tire slippage is detected, as much as 100% of available torque is instantly routed to the axle with the most traction. Choose the auto mode in the available Selec-Terrain Traction Management System for everyday driving or quickly dial in Sport, Snow, Sand/Mud, or Rock for those specific driving conditions.

The Quadra-Drive II with a rear electronic limited-slip differential is a full-time 4×4 system so it’s always active. It is the most advanced 4×4 system Jeep offers and delivers superior all-weather capability by transferring up to 100% of available torque to a single rear wheel if needed.

The Grand Cherokee SRT and Trackhawk use a full-time 4×4 system for superior driving performance in any condition. It features the strongest transfer case ever made by Jeep so it can handle massive amounts of horsepower and torque produced by the mighty 6.4-liter V8 engine or the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine featured in the Trackhawk. The 4×4 system features a mechanical wet clutch and the electronic limited-slip differential in the rear, which allows 100% of the torque to be sent to just one rear wheel. The five-mode Selec-Track system manages the torque split and suspension dampening all with the twist of a dial.
