Chrysler Airflow Crossover EV Concept

Concept cars are glimpses into what could be. With Chrysler’s focus on creating an all-electric lineup by 2028, the car company started early on its plan to release the first Chrysler electric vehicle by 2025. The concept of the 2025 Chrysler Airflow was released at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Let’s discuss what we know so far.

Chrysler took the Airflow Concept from what the future could be into what will be. The Airflow extends the driving experience by incorporating new software updates to the electronic features of the Airflow. The drivers and their passengers will be more connected to the vehicle for more of a cohesive and customizable experience. Currently, the Airflow concept has seating for four, but some speculate that once put into production, the 2025 Airflow will merge the back seats for a bench seat to sit five passengers altogether. 

The clean Airflow design smoothes out any sharp exterior elements. The shift from the hood to the windshield is almost seamless for a more aerodynamic exterior. The LED taillights span the back of the cargo space. 

The open and airy cabin will be spacious with plenty of legroom for both rows of passengers, with an available sunroof to complete the environment. The goal of the Airflow concept is to be a calming environment. The front will be lined with screen displays. The central one above the cup holders will no longer be the only touchscreen in the Chrysler vehicles. A screen will be behind the wheel, in the middle of the console, and one in front of each passenger, including the rear passengers. 

The only safety features we know will be standard to the Airflow will be Automated Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane-Departure Warning with Lane-Keeping Assist, and available Adaptive Cruise Control with Semi-Autonomous Driving Mode. The Airflow will not be fully able to drive itself, but it will be one step closer to a completely autonomous car. 

The 2025 Airflow concept is projected to go 350 to 400 miles on a single charge. The vehicle will have one 150 kW electric drive motor in the front and one 150 kW electric drive motor in the rear. The dual-motor feature offers the Airflow the ability to be all-wheel-drive. 

Chrysler has been focusing on creating a technology-forward lineup, and that continues with the Airflow Concept.
