The City of Norman’s Parks and Recreation Department will host the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Open House beginning on Nov. 30. This event begins with a tree lighting at Andrews Park Amphitheater. After the tree is lit, the group will migrate over to the central library for yummy treats, pictures with Santa, arts and crafts, and caroling.

The Sam Noble Museum will host the annual Holiday Happening on Dec. 6. You can celebrate the holidays and enjoy music, photos with Santa, and special holiday discounts at the museum store, Excavations. This annual celebration features storybook time with librarians from the Pioneer Library System and special holiday activities with the museum’s education department. From a scavenger hunt for elves hidden throughout the museum galleries to musical performances, this special event is always a favorite of families.

Celebrate the hope of a white Christmas at the Historic Sooner Theater with their rendition of the classic film, “A Christmas Story Musical.” This holiday favorite showcases the familiar tale of Ralphie’s BB gun Christmas gift hunt along with musical scores.

Finally, the Downs Family Christmas Light Display shines bright nightly from 6 p.m. to midnight. This display lasts until early January. This light display was even featured in ABC’s “Great Christmas Light Fight.” All donations directly support the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

All of us from Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Norman wish you and yours a safe and happy holiday season.
