Exterior

With two new color options, the 2023 Wrangler is a new spin on a classic look. The Wrangler is the adventurous look that most picture when someone thinks about a Jeep. It has a seven-slot grille, a rugged front fascia, a boxy cabin, and easy access to modern flare. If a rough terrain is in your future, add steel skid plates to your Wranger to help protect the more vulnerable bits. The 2023 Wrangler can be fitted with one of the following roof options: a Sky One-Touch Power Top, a Zipperless Black Sunrider Soft Top, Premium Black Sunrider Soft Top, Sunrider Hardtop, Black Freedom Top Three-Piece Hardtop, or a Body-Color Three-Piece Hardtop. The available Door-Off Mirror Kit lets you keep the mirrors but lose the doors.

Want to accent the sturdiness of your Wrangler? Furnish yours with the Xtreme Recon Package and receive 35-inch factory tires, 12.9-inch ground clearance, a 47.4-degree approach angle, a 40.4-degree departure angle, and a 33.6-inch water fording depth. Gorilla Glass and LED light options can be added. The 2023 Wrangler can come in two-door or four-door options, depending on which trim you choose. The levels between Sport and Rubicon are the only ones that can come with two doors instead of four.

Performance

The 2023 Wrangler was built with off-roading in mind. That doesn’t mean it’ll choke once it hits the pavement. The 2023 Jeep Wrangler is a powerful SUV on and off the trails and it has four 4×4 systems to choose from.

With five engine options, each Wrangler is created to be capable of any journey.

The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine has a maximum horsepower of 285, up to 260 lb.-ft. of torque, and a manual transmission that comes with Engine Stop/Start technology. This engine with a six-speed manual transmission will lead to an estimated 25 miles per gallon on the highway. This V6 engine, however, can also be equipped with automatic transmission and eTorque, which then bumps your highway mpg to 24 and adds better rock crawling abilities.

The 2.0-liter Turbo engine offers 270 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. The average highway mpg is 24 for this engine, and it can tow up to 3,500 pounds when properly hitched.

The plug-in hybrid Wrangler (more info below) is outfitted with a 2.0-liter I4 DOHC DI Turbo engine and electric powertrain, which has a max hp of 375 and up to 470 lb.-ft. of torque. The combined city and highway mpg is 49, and with a full tank of gas and fully charged battery, the PHEV will go an estimated 370 miles. The plug-in Wrangler can also tow up to 3,500 pounds if it is a correctly equipped four-door model.

The 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine reaches up to a maximum of 470 hp and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. The Hemi is a bit more powerful than the previously mentioned engines and can reach 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, but it will yank your highway mpg down to around 17. The towing capacity of this engine is also 3,500 pounds.

The 3.0-liter Ecodiesel engine reaches the best gas mileage at 29 highway mpg. The engine’s max hp is 260 with 442 lb.-ft. of torque and has a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.

2023 Wrangler 4xe

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is the spirit of a hybrid brought to life, combining perks like reduced fuel expenses and being more environmentally conscious with the spirit that comes with driving a Jeep. Jeep even went and placed solar-powered charging stations on trails around the U.S. if you need a last-minute charge before you take off. A Level I charger will charge a Jeep in 12 hours, while a Level II will charge a Jeep in around two hours. Learn more about EV chargers. The Wrangler 4xe, just the same as the gas Wrangler, is Trail Rated, meaning it is off the charts when it comes to conquering traction, water fording, maneuverability, articulation, and ground clearance. Learn more about what it means to be Trail Rated. The Wrangler 4xe has a 21-mile all-electric range and a 370-mile combined driving range. The MSRP for the 2023 Wrangler 4xe is $55,260.
