Exterior

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a captivating midsize SUV. Jeep always makes a strong impression with the standard seven-slot grille on the front of its vehicles, and the Grand Cherokee is no different. Choose your style with one of the following exterior paint options:

  • Diamond Black Crystal Pearl-Coat
  • Baltic Gray Metallic
  • Silver Zynith
  • Velvet Red Pearl
  • Bright White
  • Midnight Sky
  • Ember Pearl
  • Rocky Mountain Pearl
  • Hydro Blue Pearl

Two-Tone exterior colors, such as Hydro Blue Pearl/Black Clear and Ember Pearl/Black Clear, are available for the 2023 Grand Cherokee Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve grades. The Hydro Blue Pearl paint is only offered for the Grand Cherokee Trim monotone paint collection. Don’t let your style go unnoticed. LED headlights, brake lights, and daytime running lights keep the path in front of you visible. Even as you approach the vehicle, the 2023 Grand Cherokee has remote-activated perimeter approach lights to welcome you back to your home base.

Performance

As previously mentioned, the 2023 Grand Cherokee can come in either two-wheel or four-wheel drive. There are three available 4×4 systems if you choose that route: Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, and Quadra-Drive II with a rear electronic limited slip differential. Further control your ride with the available Selec-Terrain Traction Management System, which lets you switch between Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, and Mud/Sand mode for better grip. It would be a shame not to mention the Quadra-Lift Air Suspension purely due to the increased aerodynamics it allows the SUV.

There are three engine options. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine includes Electronic Stop/Start Technology, 293 horsepower, 260 pound-feet of torque, and up to 6,200 pounds of towing capacity. The estimated mpg is 19 city and 26 highway miles. Electronic Stop/Start Tech extends the efficiency of your Jeep by turning the engine off when the vehicle comes to a stop. The next engine option is a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 357 hp, 390 pound-feet of torque, and 2023 Grand Cherokee’s maximum towing capacity of 7,200 pounds. When all eight aren’t needed, four cylinders will be temporarily deactivated until required. The third engine option matches with the Grand Cherokee 4xe and is a 2.0-liter hybrid powertrain with 375 hp, 470 pound-feet of torque, and has a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds.

Grand Cherokee 4xe

The 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe is a plug-in hybrid that doesn’t compromise comfort for power and/or sustainability. The Grand Cherokee 4xe offers three driving modes: Hybrid, Electric, and eSave. Hybrid mode uses both the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and the electric motor; Electric mode uses the electric motor; and eSave mode uses the engine while the electric motor takes a break. The 2023 Grand Cherokee has an all-electric range of 25 miles and a combined range of 470 miles. The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe is Trail Rated and has a sway bar disconnect that comes standard so you can prevail on any trail. Learn more about what it means for a Jeep to be Trail Rated.

Interior

The 2023 Grand Cherokee cabin creates a cozy environment for its passengers. Dual zone front air vents and separate rear controls mean everyone in the cabin can be comfortable during any trip. Seat five when the Grand Cherokee has two rows, or carry up to seven passengers with three rows in the Grand Cherokee L. There’s 17.2 cubic feet of space behind the third row, and when the second and third rows are folded down, that lengthens to 70.8 cubic feet of rooms for space in the Grand Cherokee cabin and 84.6 cubic feet of space in the Grand Cherokee L cabin.

Jeep Grand Cherokee L v Grand Cherokee: What’s the Difference?

Technology

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee has some pretty interesting technical features. The 10-inch Uconnect touchscreen now comes with optional TomTom navigation, a brand known for its premium GPS products. If there will be more than one driver for the Cherokee, the touchscreen can have up to five different personalized profiles with unique home screens. It’ll even connect to multiple phones at once. On the Grand Cherokee L, you’ll have access to the rear-seat monitor, a camera to more easily see into the back rows, with a zoom-in option as well to see little faces while you’re driving. Hands down one of the neatest features of the Grand Cherokee is the passenger screen, an additional screen available for the front passenger located just to the right of the touchscreen.

Safety Features

Standard safety features for the 2023 Grand Cherokee include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Active Lane Management, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking and Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, Parkview Rear Back Up Camera with Parksense Front and Rear Park Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection. If you’re looking for additional safety features, you can equip the Grand Cherokee with a 360 Surround View Camera, Night Vision, Intersection Collision Assist, Drowsy Driver Detection (standard on Summit trim), Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition (also standard on the Summit). Active Drive Assist, an available feature, uses a combination of sensors and radars strategically placed around the exterior of your Jeep to keep you in your lane and a set distance behind the vehicle in front of you.

Reviews
