Landers Partners with Center for Children and Families for Holiday Toy & Meal Drive
12/1/2022 UPDATE:
We’re hosting a toy drive for our friends at Norman’s Center for Children and Families, Inc. again this year! The toy drive will take place December 1-16, 2022 here at Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Norman and at our sister dealership, Landers Chevrolet of Norman. Help us bring the holidays to local families by donating new unwrapped toys, food and/or diapers. In this blog from our 2021 drive below, read more about CCFI and the amazing work they’re doing right here in our Norman community. You’ll also find examples of what toys and food will be accepted – last year’s Amazon wish list is no longer available.

This holiday season, Landers Auto Group of Norman, Oklahoma, is proud to host a toy drive benefiting Norman’s Center for Children and Families, Inc. (CCFI).
Each year, the Landers group collects toys for families who otherwise may not have gifts to unwrap on Christmas morning. This year, we’re excited to partner with an organization that’s making a difference right here in Norman.
Now through December 10, stop by our showroom on Interstate Dr. in Norman, and help us fill our truck bed with new, unwrapped toys! You can also stop by our sister dealership, Landers Chevrolet of Norman, to donate; our showrooms are open Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
For logistical reasons, we ask that you don’t bring large items like basketball goals and bikes, but check out this list of items CCFI says its kids would love to unwrap this Christmas morning:
- LEGO, LEGO DUPLO and LEGO Friends sets
- Building blocks
- Small toy cars and trucks
- STEM toys
- Coloring books and supplies
- Art supplies and kits
- Baby dolls and accessories
- Dolls (L.O.L. Surprise!, Barbie, etc.)
- Creative play items (play kitchen food, cash register, dress-up clothes, etc.)
- Sensory items
- Baby and toddler toys
- Books (all reading levels, from board books to young adult)
- Puzzles (all difficulty levels/number of pieces)
- Board games
- Headphones and earbuds
- Backpacks and fanny packs
Additionally, you can browse our Amazon list here! You can choose to have the items delivered directly to us at Landers, or you can have them delivered to your home and then drop them off at the dealership.
CCFI is a nonprofit organization that recently celebrated its 50th anniversary here in Cleveland County. This agency provides programs and services to families and children in the midst of traumatic circumstances like divorce, abuse, neglect and teenage pregnancy. CCFI also administers the Boys & Girls Club of Norman and maintains a baby pantry stocked with emergency baby supplies.
“Thanks to the generosity of the Norman community, we are able to help hundreds of families have a truly magical holiday season,” CCFI Development Director Melissa Klink said. “We appreciate all of the love and support shown for our agency and the Holiday Wishes program.”
Meal Drive
Landers and CCFI are also partnering with several local Rotary clubs to provide holiday meal bags to families in the community. The bags are designed to feed a family of four a holiday dinner, and our goal is to collect enough for 50 bags. We are collecting non-perishable items for each bag which will include:
- $20 gift card to Walmart, Target or another grocery store – 50 needed
- For a turkey or ham and other perishable items
- Four cans of vegetables – 200 needed
- Two cans of fruit – 100 needed
- Two starchy items – 100 needed
- Pouch of potatoes, rice or mac & cheese
- One bread item – 50 needed
- Stuffing mix or cornbread mix
- One dessert item – 50 needed
- Boxed cake and frosting or cookie mix
