Here in Oklahoma, there are some excellent nature spots to check out in your new Cherokee; so, we’ve compiled a list of the top six places to visit while you explore our great Sooner State.

Robbers Cave State Park–4575 Northwest 1024th Ave, Wilburton, OK 74578

Don’t let the name fool you, Robbers Cave State Park is a beautifully serene park located in the Sans Bois Mountains of southeast Oklahoma. Whether you like to fish, rock climb, ride horses or hike, Robbers Cave State Park is an absolute must-visit here in Oklahoma.

A bit of a different natural experience (but still stunning nonetheless) the Joseph H. Williams Tallgrass Prairie Preserve is the largest protected area of tallgrass prairie left on the planet. Not only is the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve a wholly unique environment, it provides an excellent location to watch for wildlife with over 350 different species that live there!

Located along the shores of the Mountain Fork River and Broken Bow Lake, Beavers Bend State Park is one of Oklahoma’s most popular destinations! Here you’ll find hiking, boating, water skiing, float trips, canoeing and more, so no matter your interests, Beavers Bend State Park has got you covered. There’s even a golf course!

Tucker Tower Nature Center–18407 Scenic State Highway 77, Ardmore, OK

Originally built by the Works Progress Administration during the 1930’s, Tucker Tower was once a geological museum that also now functions as a nature center in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Situated on the top of a hill overlooking Lake Murray, Tucker Tower not only has a museum with exhibits on the bottom floor and an observation patios on the upper floors, it can also be see pretty much anywhere from the lake!

Natural Falls State Park–US-412, Colcord, OK 74338

Do you love waterfalls? Well the Natural Falls State Park is the destination for you! Located near the Arkansas and Oklahoma Border, Natural Falls State Park is home to a 77-foot waterfall that will absolutely blow your mind! Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge–32 Refuge Headquarters Rd, Indiahoma, OK 73552-2478

Last but not least, head on over to the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge in Indiahoma, Oklahoma for some good ole’ wildlife conservation. Elk, prairie dogs, white-tail deer and the massive American bison call this important refuge home. Established to protect the amazing wildlife that lives there, the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge welcomes visitors from all over to check out the magnificent area and its inhabitants.
